  5. of the Oxford English Dictionary (BOOKS, March 27). He expressed
  6. doubt that the samples of new, inelegant words included would
  7. inspire an ode by Keats, but how about some Shakespearean verse?

  9.     What if the Bard of Avon should 
  10.        return
  11.     From undiscovered country's 
  12.        bourn, and see
  13.     The changes in our language! 
  14.        Could he learn
  15.     To versify with terms from OED?
  16.     What would he say to crack and 
  17.        acid rain?
  18.     "Shall I compare thee to a 
  19.        summer's day?" . . .
  20.     To barf and drunk tank -- words 
  21.        no way germane
  22.     To love and sonneteering? 
  23.        What would he say
  24.     To brain-dead, or greenmail, the 
  25.        right-to-die?
  26.     What would he say? "What's 
  27.        happened to romantics?
  28.     These samples -- all pejorative 
  29.        semantics!"
